Belize

Belize is truly a melting pot of different ethnicities and cultures. One of the of the major contributing factors to Belize’s unique mix of cultures is its geography. It is located south of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, borders the Caribbean sea and is an ex-British colony. It is also the only country to hold full membership in the Caribbean community (CARICOM), the community of Latin America and Caribbean States (CELAC), and the Central America Integration System (SICA). The Belizean identity and culture consists largely of people of Creole, Garifuna, Mennonite, East-Indian, Middle Eastern, Indian, & Asian ancestry. If you love swimming, snorkeling, and diving you’ll have a great time in Belize which is home to the world’s second largest barrier reef.
