Rest is Revolutionary
Two of the most potent recurring themes of 2020 for me have been to slow down and to rest. I have a struggle relationship with both of these concepts and practices, as many of us do.

Trinidad & Tobago
Trinidad and Tobago should be higher on many travelers’ lists. Trinidad, with its significant oil and gas industry, relies on tourism to a much lesser degree than some of its Caribbean neighbors.

LGBTQ+
Black people matter, and that includes black lesbians, gays, queers, and transgender and gender non-conforming people. And everyone else on the rainbow spectrum. In order to amplify voices from these communities, we will be sharing resources that center these voices and experiences.

Washington D.C.
A trip to ‘Chocolate City’ affords visitors an opportunity to visit numerous Smithsonian museums for free, including the relatively new National Museum of African-American History and Culture. The NMAAHC is located in a beautiful, Yoruba-inspired glass structure. Countless memorials and monuments also make for plenty of outdoor and free things to do.

But, as DJ Kabiyesi there is no better feeling then to see crowds move their waist in-sync to Afro infused baselines, or observing people finally mustering the courage to meet others with a kindred vibes because of the music. Through the EVRYLYNC project I love helping aspiring Black Entrepreneurs fulfil their wildest dreams and seeing their vision come to life.

My best memory was creating the "My Song" community project to give children and teens who have experienced a challenging situation (cancer, illnesses, bullying, eating disorders and any other personal challenges) the opportunity to fulfill their dream of becoming a recording artist. They have the opportunity to work with Grammy winning producers/ songwriters, write original music, record their music in a recording studio, create a personalized music video and share their music with the world!
